Cousin Campers waiting for the parade to start

On our way to California, we stopped in Utah for Cousin Camp with everyone. We also made it in time for the town's Pioneer Day celebration and enjoyed the festivities they offered. Toni made up some fabulous games for all of the kids to play and Craig and Kevin introduced the kids to swimming in the creek. Grandma got her shoes filled with water and subsequently soaked me in my clothes and Derek was just plain cute. Ginny discovered that she loves to swim and is pretty good at it too. Carson discovered the interacting with his cousins was pretty fun, and Grandpa loved having all of the kids keep the chickens in line.

Moving to California July 2007

We stopped in Ventura and let the kids explore the ocean for the first time...

On the road again

A beauty in a moving truck :)

Courtney and Hannah exploring the cab---in princess dresses no less

Doing a dance for the movers...

We finally got orders to move to Vandenberg AFB along the central coast of California and started our trek on July 19, 2007. We had a few hiccups along the way, as most moves do, but finally made it out of town and headed toward the land of eternal sun. We traveled to Utah the first day, Barstow, CA (why ANYONE would choose to live there is beyond my recognition) the second and got to Vandenberg on the third. The kids were troopers and Derek (our 6 month old) did absolutely fabulous. Ginny (our Jack Russell Terrier) did great as well and Amy's ivy plant passed California agricultural inspections. Our household goods actually beat us here and we will be moving into our circa 1940's home on the 7th of August. Boy are we excited for that adventure. :) We are surrounded by palm trees so the outside yard makes up for the "sticks and bricks" house we will be getting. We are currently living in a hotel and will make a trip up to San Francisco this weekend. The kids love getting to eat breakfast in the restaurant downstairs every morning and they can get whatever they want for the time being. I told them to enjoy it while it lasts because I am NOT a short order cook. :)
